VP for Student Services
Dr. Boomer W. Appleman joined San Juan College as the Vice President for Student Services in July, of 2018. In this position, he is responsible for leadership and guidance of Student Services to include recruiting and admissions, student engagement and campus life, student support centers and TRIO programs, financial aid, advising, counseling, student housing, testing and accessibility services, student housing, and student health services.
Prior to accepting the position at San Juan College, he served as the Assistant Vice President for Student Development at East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma, for six years. During his nearly 30-year career in higher education, he also has served as a faculty member and as a Dean of Students.
His experience brings a wide breadth of knowledge in strategic enrollment management, student affairs, case management, and student development.
Dr. Appleman holds an Associate degree in Business Administration from Northern Oklahoma College, a Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems from Oklahoma State University, and a master’s degree in Adult Education from the University of Central Oklahoma. Dr. Appleman earned his doctoral degree in Higher Education from Oklahoma State University.
