In August 2020, the world was reeling from the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and its challenges, including school shutdowns and transitions to online learning.
At the same time, the 2024 graduating class of San Juan College High School (SJCHS) began an uncertain journey that would ultimately end with resilience and a devotion to education.
Established in the fall of 2016, SJCHS provides students with a unique opportunity to earn their high school diploma from Farmington Municipal Schools and associate degree from San Juan College, all within a four-year timeframe and at no cost.
The graduating class of 2024 started their first year with all-day online Zoom classes from August 2020 to February 2021, when in-person learning became an option.
In May, 66 SJCHS students will graduate with their high school diploma. Of those, 50 are on track to also graduate with their SJC associate degree.
The SJCHS Class of 2024’s achievements exemplify the strength and perseverance needed to overcome challenges and succeed in adversity. Congratulations Griffins, and best of luck in your future endeavors!
