The U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs has announced San Juan College as one of 170 institutions recognized as a Fulbright U.S. Scholar Top Producer for 2023-2024.
SJC is grouped in the Associate’s Colleges category by Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education. In this category, SJC was recognized for having one or more faculty members selected for the Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program.
SJC Professor of History Dr. Kelly Robison was granted a Fulbright award for the academic year 2023-24. Robison is spending the current spring semester in Latvia, a country on the Baltic Sea between Lithuania and Estonia. He is a guest lecturer in English and History classes at Daugavpils University, in the second largest city in Latvia. Robison says, “ I chose Latvia because of a long-time interest in Eastern Europe and the former Soviet/Eastern Bloc states.” His wife also has family ties to Latvia.
The Fulbright Program is the U.S. government's flagship international academic exchange program. Since 1946, the Fulbright Program has provided over 400,000 talented and accomplished students, scholars, teachers, artists, and professionals of all backgrounds with the opportunity to study, teach, and conduct research abroad.
