San Juan College welcomed a select group of students to an immersive STEM Technology Camp, where innovation met hands-on learning.
Hands-On Learning at Summer STEM Event
The weeklong experience gave participants the chance to dive into the world of Broadband, Cybersecurity and computer building, offering a head start toward future careers in technology.
Each day of the camp was limited to just five students, allowing for personalized instruction and deeper exploration. Campers learned the fundamentals of computer hardware and networking, building their own desktop systems from the ground up. Along the way, they assembled internal components, created Cat6 Ethernet cables and installed Windows 11.
Community Support Drives STEM Opportunities
The success of the STEM Technology Camp was made possible through the generous support of local partners and donors, including:
- Four Corners Economic Development Foundation
- Alliance for Navajo Broadband
- Four Corners Economic Development
Their commitment to investing in STEM education is helping shape the next generation of problem-solvers and innovators.
“Partnerships like these help us create meaningful, hands-on experiences that inspire lifelong learning,” said Executive Director of the San Juan College Foundation Gayle Dean. “Together, we’re building pathways to opportunity and empowering students to see themselves in technology careers.”
