Kids Kollege students taking an arts class

For Kids through Community Learning Center

Fuel your child’s love of learning with hands-on science classes that make education exciting, surprising, and fun.

Our Surprising Science series offers hands-on exploration into topics like chemistry, geology, and wildlife for younger students, while Surprising Biology brings new challenges for older learners. With engaging experiments, games, and real science fair project ideas, these classes make science both exciting and meaningful.

Kids Classes

Science surprises people both in the reaction that can be seen AND the explanation behind it. In this class for the older students, we continue to explore the wonder of science through experiments, games and demonstrations—all within the domain of physics. Specific topics include atomic structure, states of matter, density, motion, energy, and applied physics. Satisfy science-hungry students and take away exciting and original ideas for the science fair too. Dig deeper into the mysteries of physics and be sure to bring a journal to keep track of our experiments, new vocabulary, and data. As with previous classes, this class is offered in the morning and again in the afternoon, and students will be able to take home a number of projects and demonstrations. A $15 supply fee payable to instructor at the first class covers the supplies for these experiments and projects. 7 classes, 10.5 hrs total.
