Common principles underlie Tai Chi and Qigong. As the Tai Chi classics state, “One part moves, all parts move”—muscle, skeletal-fascia, and nervous system work together to generate Chi (energy). Gain a solid theoretical and physical foundation and apply these in selected Tai Chi and Qigong movements that actively regulate body alignment, posture, and mental focus. Specific exercises to build the physical foundation and awaken the energetic body include whole-body loosening, proper opening of joints, stretching fascia and tendons, and releasing muscle tension. Class includes both theory and movement and is suitable both for beginners and those with some prior Tai Chi experience.
