JOHNATHAN FISHER is a Professor of English at San Juan College, and serves as the college’s Distinguished Teaching Chair for Artificial Intelligence. He leads campus-wide AI initiatives, develops faculty training, and facilitates book clubs on emerging AI topics. In Fall 2025, he delivered the San Juan College Convocation keynote, "Using AI Wisely: Find the Gold, Skip the Fool’s Gold", highlighting both the promise and pitfalls of AI in higher education. Beyond SJC, Fisher offers AI-focused keynotes and workshops for organizations such as the Four Corners Conference for Professional Development and regional school districts, providing practical, research-informed strategies for integrating AI while preserving human agency, creativity, and critical thinking.

In this hands-on course, you’ll learn the how, where, and why of setting the table for a variety of occasions—formal, informal, buffet-style, and beyond. We’ll cover the proper placement of silverware, chargers, plates, salad and bread plates, soup bowls, and beverage glasses for wine, champagne, and water. You’ll gain confidence in napkin placement, understand which fork to use (and when), how to serve and pass food correctly, and even learn the art of buffet setup—from avoiding bottlenecks to creating a visually appealing line. You’ll also explore picnic etiquette, tips for hosting in-laws or clients, and how to set a table that’s both functional and fabulous.
